Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun just announced today that the highly anticipated Xiaomi YU7 SUV will officially launch by the end of June. The event will also feature the debut of several other Xiaomi products, including the Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro, which will be the second tablet to feature the Xuanjie O1 chip.
The Xiaomi YU7 is Xiaomi’s second SUV model, marking its entry into the SUV market. It shares a design language with the Xiaomi SU7, incorporating signature elements such as “waterdrop” headlights and “halo” taillights.
In terms of dimensions, the YU7 measures 4999mm (length) x 1996mm (width) x 1600mm (height), with a 3000mm wheelbase. This positioning makes it a mid-to-large-sized SUV comparable to the Tesla Model Y.
Safety and Technology Highlights:
The Xiaomi YU7 will be available in both single-motor and dual-motor configurations. The dual-motor version delivers a combined power output of 508 kW (681 hp) and can reach a top speed of 253km/h. A low-power all-wheel-drive version will also be offered.
Battery options include NMC (Nickel Manganese Cobalt) and LFP (Lithium Iron Phosphate) batteries supplied by CATL. The standard version offers a range of 835 kilometres, while the Pro version achieves 770 kilometres, and the Max version provides 760 kilometres. Battery capacities are 96.3 kWh and 101.7 kWh, respectively.
With an estimated price starting from 250,000 yuan (34,750 USD), the Xiaomi YU7 is positioned to be a strong competitor to the Tesla Model Y, offering superior performance in terms of size, range, and power.
