On June 22, the SGMW joint venture released the official images of its new seven-seater MPV called the Wuling Xingguang 730 targeting the family-oriented consumer group. The new car will be available in BEV, ICE, and PHEV variants.
Earlier, the Wuling Xingguang 730 was spotted in public in China covered in camouflage with slogans including SGMW’s “Lingxi Powertrain” and “Magic Battery” that feature an 800V high-voltage platform and cell-to-body integration.
The BEV variant adopts a closed front face while the ICE and PHEV variants adopt a large polygonal V-shaped front grille. A black trim with the Wuling brand logo at the center connects the headlights on both sides.
The rear design for all three variants is the same featuring a high-mounted brake light and a taillight group with an internal structure that echoes the headlights.
Sliding doors can also be seen from the side. The car runs on 215/55R17 tires. Furthermore, the blackened pillars created a floating roof effect.
Optional configurations include rim styles, rear windshield glass styles, cameras, and bumper trims.
The length, width, and height of the Wuling Xingguang 730 are 4910/1850/1770 mm, respectively, and the wheelbase is 2910 mm. The declared curb weights are 1760 kg & 1810 kg, 1610 kg, and 1818 kg for the BEV, ICE, and PHEV variants, respectively.
At this time, other powertrain specs have not been revealed. We will watch closely for more info.
Currently, SGMW has several entry-level MPV models including the Wuling Hongguang, Baojun 730, and Wuling Jiachen, with cumulative sales exceeding 7.8 million units.
